I'm a mum of two — one just started high school, the other is fresh into kindy. So we're deep in the lunchbox years, just like most of the families we hear from every day.
Oli Eve started because I couldn't find what I was looking for. Every option was either plastic, poorly made, too complicated for kids to use, or just... boring. I wanted something that felt considered. Something I'd actually be proud to pack every morning.
So we made it ourselves.
Why we started Oli Eve
We're on a mission to remove plastic from contact with our food — wherever we practically can.
Not in a preachy way. Just in a this-makes-sense-for-our-family way. The lunchbox is one of the easiest places to start — it's used every single day, it holds your kids' food, and most of them are still made entirely from plastic.
We couldn't find a plastic-free option that was genuinely well made, easy for kids to use independently, and had some personality to it. So we built one.

Why stainless steel — and not plastic
The more we looked into plastic food containers, the harder it became to keep using them.
Microplastics. Chemical leaching. Degrading over time and ending up in landfill — or worse, in the ocean. The research kept pointing in one direction.
Stainless steel is different. It's inert — nothing leaches into food. It doesn't stain, doesn't hold odours, and doesn't degrade. It can be washed thousands of times and still perform exactly as it did on day one.
For us, it wasn't just about avoiding plastic. It was about choosing something we could genuinely feel good about putting our kids' food in — every single day.
